Here are some more pictures from the “way-back” machine….in 2003 we stayed in San Pedro but also took trips to Caye Caulker and Goff’s Caye. Here are some of our favorite pictures from that year….
In 2003 the hand ferry was still in use in San Pedro….it was finally replaced in 2006 (that’s the correct date, right?) by the bridge.
This picture is the view standing in the park and looking towards the lagoon.
Bikes crossing the cut…
A golf cart….
And one more…showing how square the hand ferry really was….could you imagine how difficult it was to pull this giant square barge across the cut using just your hands and a rope?
Still in San Pedro…this is a view of the “beach road”….we are looking north….looks like the Patojos Dive shop out on the pier so thinking this is just south of the High School – please correct us if we are wrong!
Here is another look at the “beach road” looking south – the picture was definitely taken north of Wet Willy’s Dock and south of the park – if anyone knows the location please let us know!
One last picture in San Pedro before moving on….here was Central Park…
Ok, time to move on to Caye Caulker…
Here is what the Lazy Lizard looked like in 2003….
They even had a cute shop where you could send an Email!
Goff’s Caye….so empty and quiet back in 2003…
Another shot of Goff’s…
The boat dock……and the thumb in the picture is a really nice touch, don’t you think?
We will finish this up with a picture from one of our favorite restaurants in San Pedro back then….
Who remembers the Cannibal Café? What a great name for a restaurant, right?
Luna Loca is now sitting where the Cannibal used to be.
